OUR CALLING
The Northern Oklahoma Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society (NOK FOCAS) began in the minds of two brothers, David and Brian Rush, in the Fall of 2000. They desired to worship the Lord Jesus Christ while continuing to pursue their fervor for bass fishing. David and Brian love to fish and enjoy the competition involved in tournament fishing; however, their passion and conviction for their Lord Jesus Christ was and remains to this day stronger than their desire to fish tournaments on the Lord's Day. The Rush brothers asked their Heavenly Father for direction, and as The Father drew them closer to Him, David and Brian followed the Voice speaking to their hearts.
One day while Brian was watching BassMasters on TV and saw Mark Davis (2-time B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year) sharing his testimony of the glories God was performing in the FOCAS Club and how the club began. This happened to be exactly what Jesus had been speaking to Brian and David about. With that confirmation, the Rushes took their vision and adopted the blessing laid in front of them by Jesus and charter FOCAS members. NOK FOCAS officially became a charter member in December of 2000.
Brian and David Rush give God the glory for leading them to FOCAS, where they continue their passions and fellowship with other brothers and sisters who share their same desires. What a wonderful way to bring God's lost children to His glory!
